Guests at my workshops in June made this masculine card. We used the stamp set Thoughts of Father which is retiring at the end of the month, and there's a stamp in that set that says "Thinking of you on Father's Day". I purposely left it off the front of the card in case my customers wanted to use it for a different occassion, but it was available to stamp on the inside.
I started out using a piece of 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card stock in Sage Shadow. (This color is one of my favorites--we have a dog named "Sayj" and a horse named "Schadow"!) The designer paper is from To The Nines, a terrific package of specialty 12" x 12" paper that is textured and cover-weight card stock. I nipped of the corners with the Ticket Corner punch. Always Artichoke card stock backs the main truck image that is stamped in Basic Brown on Confetti White. This technique is called Spotlighting. A second image is stamped and punched out with the 1-1/4" circle punch and backed with Always Artichoke punched with the 1-3/8" circle punch (LOVE my punches!). That image is adhered to the card with dimensionals and watercolored with Aqua Painters and stamp pads of various colors. I used Chocolate Chip and Sage Shadow 1/4" grosgrain ribbons, paper pierced the bottom corner for interest and added 3 antique brass brads from the Vintage brads collection.
This card will also go to the special men in my life next week wishing them a wonderful Father's Day. Don't forget to make your special men a special handmade card!
