Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #3

Kwernerchallenge325_2 This is Card No. 2 for the Splitcoast sketch challenge this week, but I'm also doing a color challenge from Kristina Werner of kwernerdesigns.  She has the most fantastic blog - check it out and read about this color challenge.  It was a picture of a bedroom at Pier 1.  Can you imagine trying to sleep with those colors!  Anyway, the challenge was to work with Orchid Opulence, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, a dash of Basic Black and Whisper White.  I didn't follow the rules and used Very Vanilla.

When I saw these colors, I knew exactly who would love them.  I have a fabulous team member who is ALL about color. and I missed her birthday on Monday.  So Happy Birthday, Jen - hopefully you'll get the card in the mail before you see it here!

The only stamping on this card was the flower from Ginormous Flowers which I stamped in Rose Red and punched out with the 5 Petal Punch, then added a large purple Rhinestone Brad to the middle and popped it up with dimensionals.  To tie it together, I used three orange Rhinestone Brads along the side.  The two black accents are Rub-Ons from the Sale-A-Bration pack, Love and Happiness.  I did some paper piercing to add interest.  The ribbon is Very Vanilla Wide Grosgrain tied in a knot.

I used dimensionals to raise the "happy day" piece, then pieces of rubber from cutting out my stamp sets to raise the main image.  This allows it to sit flat on the base of the card even though the piece under it is popped up with dimensionals.

I love how you tied a knot in the ribbon, very neat idea. I am not very good at tying bows (I think I will try this). Love the card!
