Yesterday was so much fun! We had our annual Oktoberfest gathering for our team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators. We packed so much into one day! Aly prepared fabulous projects for us, and we stamped all morning and for a couple of hours after lunch. We all made the projects that we'll be offering our customers at our upcoming Christmas Bonanza! You'll want to mark your calendar for November 14th for our Christmas Bonanza at Crosswinds Wesleyan Church in Canandaigua, NY. I was having a hard time coming up with a "wow" project for my last stamp camp on how to use the Big Shot machine. My friend and team member, Jen Rios-Raner, came up with a darling Big Shot brag book using the Cottage Wall designer series paper. I decided to CASE her project with a few minor changes. Here's what mine looks like:
I started out by cutting the cover to the book using the Top Note Die and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I cut a piece of Thick Window Sheets, a piece of Long Board chipboard from the On Board Book Basics and a piece of Whisper White card stock. I ran the Thick Window Sheet through the Big Shot by itself, but I was able to cut everything else all together in one "shot"--no pun intended! All of the designer series paper came from the pack called Pink Flamingo. The "things i love . . ." saying came from the Things I Love stamp set and was stamped in Real Read Classic Ink. The flower images is from Simply Said stamp set and were stamped in Summer Sun Classic Ink and Black Staz-On Ink. I found this stamp set coordinated beautifully with the designer paper. Before assembling all the pieces, I wrapped a piece of 1/4" Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon with a Flower Ribbon Slide from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware set around the center and tucked in the edges. The only thing holding the Window Sheet in place is this ribbon and the ring at the top, but that seemed like enough. I was able to punch through all the layers with the Crop-A-Dile. Would you like to see inside?
There's some tone-on-tone stamping on the Summer Sun card stock using the VersaMark pad and the flower again from the Simply Said stamp set. The right-hand side features a stem from For All You Do stamp set stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder and the Heat Tool. I added 2 Summer Sun flowers punched out with the Trio Flower Punch, then added Real Red Brads from the Bolds Brights Brads pack using my Paper Piercing Tool and Mat Pack. Now on to the next page!
Here I've stamped a different flower image from Simply Said in VersaMark on the Tempting Turquoise card stock. The hearts are also from Simply Said, stamped in Real Red Classic Ink on some Cameo Coral Designer Paper from Pink Flamingo.
Hearts from Simply Said are stamped in Real Red Classic Ink on Real Red card stock on the left. The right-hand page was created using Tempting Turquoise card stock and a piece of polka dot designer paper from Pink Flamingo. I stamped the "Always" image from the stamp set called Always with Real Red Classic Ink, punched it out with a Circle Punch then punched out a slightly larger circle in Summer Sun card stock to back. I tucked in a piece of 3/4" Polka Dot Grosgain Ribbon in Real Red and adhered everything with Dimensionals.
Here's a simple layout--the left side is Cameo Coral card stock stamped with VersaMark and an image from Simply Said. The right side is a terrific piece of designer paper from Pink Flamingo.
This is the back of the book. Again, I cut a piece of Long Board chipboard and used this gorgeous designer paper in Summer Sun from my Pink Flamingo package of paper. This paper worked perfectly for this project! So many choices and so many colors!
The ladies who attended the class just loved this project! They made this in about an hour! The Big Shot makes all your projects just fly! Can't you just see how darling this little book would be filled with all your favorite photos of the things you love?

I can't get enough of this fabulous new stamp set! Sweet Centers with the Sweet Treat Cups is the cutest idea yet! Here I've created a Halloween card using the color scheme that Stampin' Up! features in their Halloween collection on pages 22 and 23 of the Idea Book & Catalog. Whenever I want a fresh, new color palette, I turn to Stampin' Up!'s fantastic color choices and the Catalog helps me so much!
The card base is Basic Black, with the 8-1/2"x11" paper cut lengthwise to 4-1/4"x11". This allows me to wrap that gorgeous Crushed Curry 1/2" Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon around the end of the card. I used the pretty flourish stamp from Friends 24/7 to stamp on the Old Olive card stock in two of the corners, then tore the opposite edge. Next comes a piece of Crushed Curry card stock. I stamped my Halloween image in Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock, punched out the center with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch, then filled my Sweet Treat Cup with gourmet lemon jelly beans--the perfect color!
I didn't want to waste that cute little saying that I punched out of the main image, so I adhered it to the inside of the card, then drew a line with my White Gel Pen to "hang" the spider from the card.
Let's pull up anchor and set sail for a catty cruise that's sure to be exciting! This is my maiden voyage, so please be kind! Having been asked to blog in the company of these fine designers was such an honor, but my oh my, the pressure is on! I hope you like what I've made for you!

This Catalog Cruise is highlighting Stampin' Up!'s amazing Holiday Mini Catalog which can be viewed by clicking on the catalog picture in the right-hand column. Each member of the crew chose a product to highlight, and I knew in an instance which one I wanted for my very own! Pages 12 and 13 of the catalog feature the stamp set Autumn Splendor and Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper. Wow--these colors and patterns took my breath away! I love the addition of Taken with Teal to brighten things up a bit in the Fall palette.
My first project is this Fall wreath. Some of you may have seen the terrific Christmas wreath presented by Bonnie Thurber at the Stampin' Up! National Convention this past August. I CASED her idea and then added my own elements. I started out with a green styrofoam wreath I purchased at a local craft store, then cut strips from my designer paper that measured 7/8" x 6". Using my bone folder, I curled each end of the paper and attached each strip to the wreath with a small straight pin. (Yes, this did take awhile, but I was the passenger on a 10-hour car trip so it was the perfect opportunity!) Here's a picture upclose of how this looks:
The header is made from a piece of thin wood I purchased at a craft store painted with acrylic paint. After that dried, I went over it with a sponge and some Chocolate Chip Craft Ink.
I stamped several leaves from the Autumn Splendor stamp set with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink on Taken with Teal, More Mustard and Really Rust card stock, then applied Clear Embossing Powder, heated with the Heat Tool and cut them all out with my Paper Snips, which made the job easy as can be.
I also cut out the letters for "fall" from Stampin' Up!'s fabulous new Wood Sheets using the Alphabet Simple Letters Bigz Dies and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I used Really Rust and then Chocolate Chip Classic Ink with a sponge to stain the wood. The wreath hangs from a piece of gorgeous Chocolate Chip 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon--it's so incredibly soft--and the two pieces are connected with Natural Hemp Twine. The Crop-A-Dile makes fast work of punching holes through the wood, and I added some Pewter Jumbo Eyelets to finish it off.
The following three cards were designed using different techniques for each one. This card was created using both the Autumn Splendor stamp set and the Autumn Meadow Designer Series Paper along with the Cracked Glass technique. I started with a piece of Watercolor Paper and with my Aqua Painter, color washed the entire paper with Taken with Teal Classic Ink. I stamped the leaf in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, then spritzed the image with water to give it that "fuzzy" effect. Three layers of Glassy Glaze Enamel later, I popped it in the freezer and forgot about it until later in the day! It made the cracking process REALLY easy! Then I used Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and sponged over the cracks. This was mounted on a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock, then onto a piece of Really Rust card stock that had been punched down the side with the Scallop Edge Punch. That went on top of my designer paper, then on top of a piece of More Mustard card stock, then onto a Taken with Teal base--lots of layers! The gratitude saying came from Define Your Life stamp set and was stamped on Very Vanilla card stock, then "beaten up" a bit! I added some Twill Tape stamped with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink using a thank you stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. My last addition was a Chocolate Chip Corduroy Button threaded through the middle with a piece of Linen Thread. A couple of Mini Glue Dots hold it in place nicely.
Here's a a card using Autumn Splendor again, along with a fun little Hostess Level 1 stamp set called Holiday Best for the sentiment. The technique is creating a stamp pad out of a baby wipe and reinkers! I simply chose all of the colors represented in the Autumn Meadow Designer Series Paper. Stampin' Up! makes color coordination so easy!
I started out with a card base using Really Rust. I layered in a couple of pieces of torn card stock in Chocolate Chip and More Mustard. The main stamped image is on Very Vanilla card stock backed with a piece of Taken with Teal which has been paper pierced along both edges. Two leaves were stamped on scrap Very Vanilla card stock, cut out and tied on to a knotted piece of Chocolate Chip 1" Double-Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon with Linen Thread. The leaves are adhered with Dimensionals. The finishing touch is the sentiment "Give Thank" stamped with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.
This is the simplest of all my projects, but for some reason, it seems to work. I kept trying to add more embellishments to it, and in the end, it looked better simple. Sometimes simple is better!
I started by stamping the acorn image from Autumn Splendor in More Mustard on the same color card stock. I added a piece of the Autumn Meadow Designer Series Paper on top of some Chocolate Chip card stock for the side. The main image is stamped in VersaMark ink on Very Vanilla card stock, then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I used Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set to add splashes of color on two corners. I mounted that on Really Rust card stock and tore all four sides, bending them all forward a bit, then stamped "Happy Thanksgiving from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set on Very Vanilla card stock , punched it out with the Word Window Punch and tucked it underneath. The final touch is a piece of pretty Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.

I first used the Sweet Centers stamp set found in the new Holiday Mini catalog and stamped the petals in Crushed Curry Classic Ink and the leaf in Old Olive Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock. I cut out all of the petals with my wonderful Paper Snips and adhered them to a Sweet Treat Cup, then added the leave in back. The center is filled with red M&M's and held in place with a 2/12" round piece of Crushed Curry card stock cut out with the Circle Scissors Plus and adhered to the back. I used a bamboo skewer as the stem and tied on a piece of Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon. The flower pot is made with the Big Shot and the Baskets & Blooms Bigz XL Die using Bermuda Bay textured card stock. I tied a piece of 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon also in Bermuda Bay on the handle and added a tag. The sentiment "sweet treats" is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamped in Real Red Classic Ink and punched out with the Modern Label Punch. I added a flower by punching Crushed Curry card stock with the Trio Flower Punch and added a black brad from the Vintage Brads packet. The flower pot is filled with chocolates which hold the flower straight.
I don't know about you, but for some reason, I'm always shying away from the traditional Christmas card look. I even don't care to use the traditional colors for Christmas cards. When I saw the Medallion background stamp, all I saw was a funky, fun Christmas wreath! And for me, Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper was just MADE for Christmas!
I created this card for a swap with my Heartfelt Stampers team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators all-day Stamp Fest this coming Saturday. We'll meet in Irondequoit, NY, at our Team Executive's stamping studio for a day filled with stamping projects, all taught by various team members. I'm teaching the faux alligator purse with a surprise inside! I'll post the projects after Saturday's class, as well as all of the other projects we worked on.
Anyway, I digress! On to how I made this card!
I began with Confetti White card stock. I like this choice over our Whisper White for using as the base of the card because it's a bit heavier. I stamped the Medallion background stamp in Bermuda Bay ink directly on the card, then stamped it again in Chocolate Chip ink on a piece of scrap card stock, then cut that image out and used Stampin' Dimensionals to mount it onto the card. But before I did that, I punched out a piece of Rose Red card stock using the 1-1/4" circle punch, punched the center of that circle out with the 1/2" circle punch and added a white Basic Jumbo Grommet. Then I tied a piece of 1" double-stitched grosgrain ribbon in Rose Red and used a mini glue dot to adhere it to the center. The sentiment is from Four the Holidays, a terrific greeting stamp set in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I cut off 1/2" from the bottom of the card front and mounted a couple strips of Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper to the lower inside part of the card. Here's a picture:

It's hard to know where to begin with Convention highlights! This Convention proved to be the best Stampin' Up! event ever held! I learned so much from the Stampin' Up! home office--terrific stamping idea as well as valuable business information. But one of the biggest highlights for me was spending time with some women on my Stampin' Up! team, The Heartfelt Stampers.
Five of us traveled to Salt Lake City, UT. We weren't all able to be on the same flights or in the same hotel, but we met up as often as possible throughout the week. Here are some of my favorite pictures:

Aly Schilling (team leader and my daughter!) and her family, Brad and Landon, couldn't be with us during much of Convention. Aly was on the Advisory Board this year and had lots of commitments, including being honored at the Awards Night.
The wonderfully creative people at Stampin' Up! had lots of room displays for us to look at. Here's a great one with a Halloween theme. Lots of uses for all our terrific products!
Our new line of Definitely Decorative Decor Stencils, combined with the Decor Elements, makes home decorating projects a breeze. Look at all the embellished items in this room!
To kick off a brand new campaign, I was able to purchase this adorable Stampin' Up! Build-A-Bear at the Memento Mall. Isn't she sweet with the Melon Mambo Polka Dot bow in her hair, stamp in her hand and the Stampin' Up! logo on her paw! And the little demonstrator apron is just too much!

This is just a small sampling of what we're treated to at the Gathering Place. There are literally thousands of card samples from all our wonderful demonstrators posted for inspiration. I was busy taking hundreds of pictures so that I could bring home fabulous ideas for all my terrific customers! It was so exciting when I found 2 of my very own cards displayed here!
Shelli Gardner, co-founder of Stampin' Up!, had a fabulous presentation on gift giving. Each one of these boxes contained numerous handmade gifts, all using Stampin' Up! products! What a treat!

First, can I just say that I have the most awesome upline ever! Well, she is my daughter, but beyond that, she is the most supportive Stampin' Up! "cheerleader" for all of those on The Heartfelt Stampers team of demonstrator! Last Friday, we celebrated this past year's achievements with a fabulous day, prepared by Aly Schilling, for those with top sales and top recruiting for the past Stampin' Up! year. I was fortunate enough to earn first place in recruiting and second place in sales! Here are some highlights:
We were first treated to a fun and delicious traditional Japanese hibachi lunch at Sakura's Japanese Restaurant in Pittsford NY.
Of course, Aly had stamped us these darling favors that were waiting for us at our place settings. Do you recognize some of our new products? The tag on the fan was cut out of our new wood sheets with the new Two Tags Bigz Die. And she used our yummy new 1-14" striped grosgrain in black and white to tie it off.
The cooking was done at a hibachi table right in front of us. It was very entertaining, as the chef juggled knives and created fire blasts.
We stopped for a photo op in the foyer. Pictured here are Aly Schilling (front), Jen Rios-Raner, Christine Luce and myself.
Then it was on to Aly's back yard, where she had set up this beautifully decorated tent for an afternoon of tea, Japanese snacks, fellowship and of course, stamping!
We each had a special place setting using Melon Mambo paper stamped down the side with a stamp from Asian Artistry stamp set, a Level 2 hostess set. Our keepsake is a bamboo plant with a nice metal plaque on the front that says The Heartfelt Stampers Diva Day 2009 and our name. There were even Japanese candies embellished with Stampin' Up! touches.
And I'm sure you're wondering what our project for the day was! Here it is--isn't it gorgeous!?! We each made this beautiful framed memento of the day using embossed stamps and final touches with Decor Elements on the glass. A picture of the day will go on the white space.

A good customer of mine just had her first child--a beautiful little girl named Elaina. I just finished making her this special card. I'm sure she's too busy to be checking my blog right now, so I'll give you all a peek before putting it in the mail.
I really had a hard time photographing these beautiful purples. I must have taken 15 pictures, and the color just isn't quite right. Anyway, pull out a piece of Orchid Opulence and see what a rich, gorgeous purple it is, and then imagine that that's the color of the base of my card!
I began designing this card by looking up the sketch challenge for the week at Splitcoast. It seemed one I could work with for a baby card, so I went about figuring out a designer paper to incorporate. I didn't have to look long to know I needed to use the new Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper. The delicate purples are just right for a baby girl. I cut two pieces of that paper, then backed them both with Rich Razzleberry, my absolute favorite new In Color. I then tied a beautiful piece of White Organza Ribbon around the entire card and snipped the ends off. TIP: Just fold the ribbon in half and cut at a slant to get those cute ends. The main image is a single stamp called Beautiful Baby. It's stamped on Rich Razzleberry with Whisper White craft ink, then I poured on White Emboss Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. After that was cool, I paper pierced around the edges, used my White Gel Pen to create faux stitching, mounted that on a piece of Whisper White card stock, then adhered that to my card using the leftover rubber scraps from mounting my stamp sets. That gives it even more "pop" than the dimensionals. I ran another print from Cottage Wall through the Big Shot using the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, wrapped a piece of Silver Cord around its body and tied it off to look like antennae. I used a small bit of SNAIL Adhesive down the center to leave the wings free to flap! The final addition was three small white half-back pearls from the Pretties Kit.
I'm just putting the finishing touches on my over 100 swaps for Convention 2009! I thought I could possibly make more than that, but with less than a week before the trip, it looks like I'll have to be happy with what I've got completed. I liked how this card turned out, so I used it for my July workshops as well. Customers commented that it's a layout they'll use again, and they also enjoyed seeing the VersaMark flower behind the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.
I decided that having so many cards to make, they would really go a lot more quickly if I used punches. I stamped the flower image from Petal Pizzazz three times--once in Rich Razzleberry, once in Bashful Blue and a third time in Old Olive, then punched them out with the 1-1/4" Square Punch. I added a Silver Brad in the center using my Paper-Piercing Tool and Mat Pack, then used Dimensionals to adhere them to a piece of Dusty Durango punched out with the Scallop Square Punch. (Yes, I used 12 dimensionals on each of 100 cards, but it made such a HUGE difference!) The main card stock is Bashful Blue with a strip of Rich Razzleberry at the top, tied off with a piece of 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon in Old Olive. I stamped a larger flower from the same Petal Pizzazz stamp set in VersaMark onto the Bashful Blue card stock in the lower right-hand corner, then stamped over the top of that flower with Birthday Wish in Rich Razzleberry.

I found a few minutes this morning to be creative! Wow, does that ever start my day on the right note! Anyway, I thought I'd check out the challenges at Splitcoast for this week. I combined the sketch challenge at the left with the color challenge to use Really Rust, Not Quite Navy and Pretty in Pink IN THE SAME CARD!!! Oh, my gosh, can I just say that those colors were really a challenge! I'm still not sure what I think of them, but here goes:
I hadn't had much of a chance to use my new stamp set Animal Stories. The color scheme reminded me of the circus which reminded me of animals. The base of the card is Really Rust stamped with the same ink using the Polka Dot Background Stamp. This basic background stamp is my very favorite--you won't find it in the new catalog, but it is on the dormant list and can be ordered. I used the Scallop Edge Punch to punch both sides of a piece of Pretty in Pink card stock, tied a piece of 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Pretty in Pink around a piece of Not Quite Navy card stock, then adhered them together. I stamped each of the animals on Whisper White card stock, then punched them out using the Scallop Square Punch and adhered them with Dimensionals. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, stamped on Whisper White card stock and punched out with the brand new Modern Label Punch, then I applied the Not Quite Navy brads from the Earth Elements Brads pack to each corner. Yes, and (drum roll, please) we now have the Paper-Piercing Tool sold separately this year, along with the Mat Pack, for easy brad setting! That's also put in place with dimensionals over two circles punched using the 1-1/4" Circle Punch with Not Quite Navy and the 1" Circle Punch with Pretty in Pink. You can see how much I use my punches--I just love all of the great time-saving punches that Stampin' Up! has to offer!

Here's the last techniques-based project for June's stamp camp. I'm sure many of you have tried the brayered roses technique using the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die for the Big Shot, but my customers hadn't seen this before. They really enjoyed seeing how different each person's project turned out depending on how much ink was used and how much pressure was applied.
You'll want to be sure to use the Shimmery White card stock for the flowers--it makes such a difference, adding just a hint of sparkle!

I love all animals, but especially birds of all kinds. I'm lucky enough to live in the woods on 60 acres of land in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. It's absolutely beautiful, and we're often visited by many different kinds of wildlife. I've only ever seen an owl on our property once, but I can hear them as I lie in bed at night. It's such a peaceful sound, and I imagine them cooing to their partners much the same as the picture I've created on this card.
I thought this card would make the perfect one to give to a husband. It has a decidedly masculine feel. The owls are from a brand new stamp set Animal Stories. I've stamped them on a separate piece of card stock, cut them out with my Paper Snips, and adhered them with dimensionals.
The branch I borrowed from the birds in Cheep Talk, and I used my markers in Soft Suede and Old Olive to ink up the rubber before I stamped.
The sentiment comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is punched out with our new Modern Label Punch, Night of Navy brads placed in the corners and then the whole image popped up on dimensionals.
The strip of designer paper is from the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper pack. This paper is destined to be my favorite this year! I backed it with a piece of Crushed Curry and wound a piece of Linen Thread around the piece before adhering it to the main card stock of Night of Navy.
I wanted to create a moon but didn't want the harshness of just punching a circle. So I took a scrap piece of paper, punched a hole with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch, then used that as a stencil. I laid it over the area on the main image Whisper White card stock and with a Stamping Sponge and Crushed Curry ink, sponged the color onto the mask I created, then just remove the mask.
I love dimension on my cards and so I backed the main image with Old Olive card stock, then used my scrap pieces of rubber from my stamp sets to pop up that main image even further that I'm able to with dimensionals. It's also a great way to put those rubber scraps to good use. Here's a picture of how I've raised up all the images:

We've all heard of Christmas in July! I just had to show you two of my favorite new products from the new 2009-10 Idea Book & Catalog. The minute I saw Thoroughly Modern, the gorgeous new designer paper using Rose Red, Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand, I thought of what fun and unusual Christmas colors they would make. Then I ordered the new Level 1 hostess exclusive stamp set Holiday Best and knew the two would combine beautifully for just the right look for the holidays.
This card was made easy by the new In Color Markers. I was able to ink up three separate parts of the rubber stamp to create a multicolored main image. Then I stamped it again and cut out the "Merry Christmas" and yes, the cardinal, too! Aren't you terribly impressed with my paper snipping skills! But I can't take all the credit. My Stampin' Up! Paper Snips make it easy! Both those images are popped up with dimensionals to add some more interest. I used a Rose Red Button tied up with a bit of Linen Thread as an accent. And, of course, the new In Color Polka Dot Ribbon finishes the card.
The main card stock is Soft Suede, one of the new In Colors. And did you know the In Colors now come in 8-1/2" x 11" Textured Assorted Packets? For just $.08 more per sheet, you can be using these beautiful card stocks on your projects rather than the plain card stock. It doesn't show up that well in the photo, but believe me, it really puts a lot of pizzazz into your project.

One of my favorite Big Shot accessories in last season's catalog was the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Manhattan Flower. With the release of the new 2009-10 Idea Book & Catalog, we have two additional Embossing Folders. This one is called Elegant Bouquet. I ran it through the Big Shot with Whisper White card stock, then used the Stampin' Pastels in Old Olive, Regal Rose and Summer Sun and with the applicators that come with the pastels, rubbed over the embossed pieces to create this beautiful background. I nipped the corners off with the Ticket Corner Punch. The sentiment is stamped from Sincere Salutations with a Versa Mark Pad and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. I then punched it out with the Wide Oval Punch, added a Regal Rose flower that I die cut using the Big Shot and the Birds & Blooms Sizzlits and centered a white 5/16" Jumbo Brad on the flower. There's a piece of 5/8" Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon underneath the sentiment.
I just got a box of new supplies and found time to play this afternoon. Here's a card I made for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge.
I started out with Confetti White card stock cut at 5-1/5" x 8-1/2", folded in half, then added a piece of Basic Black cut at 5-1/4"x4" and layered on a piece of designer paper cut at 5"x3-3/4". The other two pieces of designer paper are cut and backed with Basic Black, as is the main image. A piece of black ribbon is added. All of the designer papers are from the packet called Pink Flamingo. Next I used Razzle Dazzle stamp set (brand new to the catalog!), and using my markers, inked up the image so that it would be tri-colored. The color scheme was taken from the designer paper pack and is Summer Sun, Cameo Coral and Tempting Turquoise. The final touch was to use my Color Spritzer Tool and a Basic Black marker to spritz some color onto the image. I then used my Big Shot and cut out two small daisies from the Flower Daisies #2 Bigz Die(one of my favorites!), staggered them and then placed a white 5/8" Jumbo brad through the center. The sentiment is from the very fabulous new set called Teeny Tiny Wishes, stamped in Basic Black ink.

I just love teaching stamp camp classes! It's my time to show some intricate cards using more of our fabulous Stampin' Up! products that I'm not able to show my customers during a workshop. This month, I concentrated on 4 different techniques, highlighting one in each of the 4 cards we made. The first one was the card I used for advertising the class You can find it HERE. It taught the Ink, Spray & Smash technique to create the background, and we also got a chance to use the Circle Scissors Plus.
This is our second card using a wonderful stamp set called Doodle This that's retiring at the end of the month. The main image uses the Marbled Window Sheets technique. It doesn't show up well in the photo, but the swirls are stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock, then there is a window sheet overlay that is stamped with the flower, then colored in using reinkers and Crystal Effects. The results are quite beautiful.
We'll be taking a break for the summer, but if you're in the Finger Lakes area of New York State, mark your calendar for September 18th and 19th, and join us for the next class. I'll post the other two projects soon!
